Hi everyone

I have finally finished the portrait of the cute little guy. Fingers crossed that the client will like it.
It is so hard doing portraits, you put so much into them and then you just hope that it is enough.
Back to flowers and butterflies. Less stress. Let me know what you think.
This was done in coloured pencil.

Have a great creative day everyone!!!

Here are a few drawings I have been working on.

The grapes are getting close to being finished as well as the horse.

Lots to do on the portrait, it has been a struggle, seems they have changed the texture of the paper I use.

Have a great day!

October 8th

I had a wonderful time teaching at the Barrie Art Club recently on how I drew this cute little Nuthatch in coloured pencil.

I am now offering a tutorial so that all the artist who are unable to attend my workshops can through a downloadable PDF file at my online Country Cottage Store can have a chance to give it a go.

Hope you give it a try and always remember I am just an email away if you have any questions.

A Step by Step tutorial on how I created the Nuthatch drawing. It has lots of pictures showing each stage of the drawing with easy to follow instructions. Get yours today for only $5.99, and start creating your very own Nuthatch. Enjoy!

I have finally gotten around to getting some more done on the carnation that I started way back in January. I have been busy with classes and life in general. Lots of ideas and so little time to paint them all. I really like how this is turning out,  but I am really looking forward to calling this one finished. I may add some coloured pencil details at the end for all the multimedia artist out there.

To my Mom who could use a walk in the park today.
Next time you visit we are going for a walk together.
We will bring a picnic basket and our paint sets.
Can't wait.

Love you.

There is a large trellis at the beginning of the park entrance. Wild grapes and Ivy cover it completely.

If you peek through the opening, there is the most amazing tree waiting for you.

It is hard to capture in a photo the feeling you get when you are there. My camera isn't a great one but you get the idea. It's branches are so outstretched, it is embracing you. Just amazing. I just wanted to plop down on the bench and draw it.

You  have gardens all around you that you can visit but I chose the path that leads to a trellis.

You are greeted with a wonderful surprise in the Tranquility Garden.

Surrounded by gardens and trees, you are totally enclosed. The beautiful sound of bubbling water is coming from the rocks in a small pond. Squirrels and Chipmunks are everywhere. We will bring peanuts next time, a couple of them ran up to me hoping I had some.

There is history here as well. Throughout the area they have explanations about the Indians who used to live in the area and the longhouses they built.

You are then surrounded by gardens that you can walk through.

Relax and enjoy the tour, all is as it should be.

And then back to the Tranquility Garden to sit awhile.
